This black and white 16 page zine compiles my rejected poetry, short stories, and journal entries. As an English major at California State University Long Beach in 2016, I submitted these works to literary magazine and anthologies with the hopes of being published.
After getting turned away from every publication I applied to, I turned to zine making to bring my writing to life. Despite my rejections I was able to take my power back and control how I presented my work by creating my very first zine, You Kinda Suck Issue 1, in Fall 2017.
